3 Mobile Broadband
3 Mobile currently offer some good Pay As You Go mobile deals for occasional users with a £10 top-up and a £99 USB modem, and for light regular users their pay monthly starts at only £10 per month and a FREE modem.
Their UK coverage will soon expand greatly as they have recently announced a tie-up with T-Mobile to share each other's UK 3G coverage.

3 Mobile Broadband Pay Monthly Plans
It is easy to pick a monthly contract with 3, simply select the best data allowance from 1Gb Lite (at £10 per month), 3Gb Plus (at £15 per month), or 7Gb Max (at £25 per month). You can then choose a contract length of 12, 18, or 24 months. The USB modem is FREE on all contracts (except the 12 month 1Gb).
Take care not to exceed the data allowance though - it will cost you £100 per Gb if you exceed it! You can monitor your usage as you go though.

3 Mobile Broadband PAYG Plans
The 3 Pay As You Go offers work on a similar basis. Buy the USB modem for £99 and then select the best data top-up from 1Gb Lite (at £10), 3Gb Plus (at £15), or 7Gb Max (at £25). All top-ups last 30 days before they expire.
Take extra care not to exceed the data allowance - it will cost you £1,000 per Gb (that's not a typo, it really is £1,000) if you exceed it! All you have to do to stop this is monitor your usage and buy another top-up when you run out - you can buy as many top-ups in a month as you like, so this is the only route to really high download allowances in the UK, for example 35Gb in a month would cost you 5 x £25 Max top-ups = £125.
